My two year old Evoke 3 radio has been acting up recently, I contacted Pure and they advised upgrading the software to the newest version 1.8. I am trying to do this with a Toshiba laptop with Windows XP (all service packs and upgrades installed). Despite following the instructions fully, the 'Found New Hardware Wizard' fails to find the software. Has anyone else had this prblem and found a solution. I have been in contact with Pure support, but their advice is only try again (not that helpful).
Steps taken:
1. Download software.
2. Radio off, not connected by USB
3. Install software - get to 'Connect USB screen'
4. Connect USB lead to radio, turn on radio, go to 'Upgrade Software' menu
5. Choose OK on radio to begin software
6. Small balloon on PC comes up saying 'Found Evoke 3' and 'Found new hardware ' wizard starts
7. Choose 'install software automaically' option (FNHW wizard)
8. FNHW wizard says 'Cannot install this hardware', radio screen just shows 'waiting for upgrade'
Any advice welcome
